So I’ve been really bad this last week about running. I was pretty discouraged when I couldn’t even complete a whole cycle of my first running, and I didn’t run at all for the rest of last week! I also had a crazy amount to do, so I’m going to blame it on wedding invitations, friends in town, and my grandpa’s wedding reception.
Today, even though I was in a horrible mood and just wanted to pig out, I ate healthy for dinner and decided at 8:30 to go running. The temperature had cooled down to around 75 degrees and I told myself that I had to go to fix the weight loss I had ruined over the weekend.
I have to say, I’m really glad I went running. It was so relaxing! I took my friend Tammy’s suggestion to switch to softer music (I had put dance music on), and began my run 1 minute, walk 2 minutes cycles. I ran the first seven cycles continuously (a HUGE improvement from the 5 cycles total), then I jogged in place while talking to a neighbor for 10 minutes, then finished the last three cycles! All in all, I ran/walked 2.2 miles and burned 242 calories! All for 40 minutes of exercise, that isn’t bad! I’m so excited about it being even cooler tomorrow, that I may skip the walking 30 minutes and run instead!
Not to mention, the sunset was beautiful, and I love running next to farmland….What a wonderful ending to my day!
