So as I mentioned in an earlier post, tomorrow I start an eight-week training program to help me learn how to run. I’ve always wanted to be a runner, but even when I was very physically fit I never thought I’d be able. Up to the moment where I feel like I am going to die, for a brief second I feel very peaceful and meditative when I run. So I’m going to start this program from RunnersWorld.com and to celebrate this occasion, I bought a new pair of running shoes!
Now before we look at a picture of these beauties, let me explain my previous tennis shoe buying experience. I would find the cheapest pair of cute shoes that didn’t hurt my feet and go home with those. My last pair were on clearance for $8 at Target! Let’s just say they aren’t the best support for running, shall we?
Here are the new beauties. They are New Balance 460SG’s.
I must’ve tried on 20 pairs before I settled on these. They have great arch support and they didn’t hurt my feet when I jumped/ran in place in the store (Yes, I was one of those people. But I don’t want to get shin splints on my first attempt at running!). And they were only $44.95 on sale!
And while I was there, I picked up this nifty watch. I liked it because it has a cloth band so it won’t slide around while I’m sweating in the hot sun and it has a countdown timer, which will be important when I have to run different amounts of time each day. At $17.45 on sale, I couldn’t resist picking it up!
What kind of sports equipment have you picked up lately?
